Gulf Oil, Hypocrisy and Military Bases
Hypocrisy is the name of the game for most politicians of both parties. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the discussions about removing all American troops from Iraq at some time in the near future. Every Congressman knows two things: 1. until oil is replaced by some other fuel as the prime source of heat and of motive power, American forces must remain in strength in the Middle East to protect the oil fields and the oil routes from the crazies, and 2. in Iraq, the United States is well along in building the largest (fortified) embassy it has any where in the world, along with several huge and permanent military bases.
This has been well reported in the press, so no Democratic House member or Senator can claim ignorance about this as he or she screams about ‘bringing home all the troops’. For example:

"PERMANENT" "BASES" IN "IRAQ"....The United States is building at least four "super-bases" in Iraq, military compounds that are almost certainly designed to be huge permanent presences there.
Not only do the calls to ‘cut and run’ demoralize our soldiers and the Iraqis and encourage our enemies to hang in there, these calls have no possible objective except to energize or placate the extreme, left-wing kook base of the Democratic Party. American troops will and should be rotated in and out of Iraq as conditions on the ground and the status of the fledgling Iraqi army warrant, but not many adults will live to see the day when all American forces will be able to withdraw completely from the area in and around the Persian Gulf. That is an unpleasant fact that grown-ups have to deal with.

This is NOT a funny topic, but I DID have to laugh when the cut and run proposal was defeated....and the "cut and 'JOG'" proposal was also...
The Democratic Party is going in the wrong direction. The yellow streak down their back is really beginning to show. I guess that they completely forgot about what happened on 9/11. They were right behind the President back then. So what happened to them? Is it the cost of the war? Are they tired of dealing with Iraq? If they are, then all I have to say is, it's easier to work together jointly with members on the other side of the aisle, than to pick up a weapon and go over there and protect their liberties and everyone else's. You know that good old American saying,---"When the going gets tough, the tough get going?" But noooo! "We hate this President, and we're going to show it, by giving him the business." This kind of thinking really amazes me! They even go so far as to want to protect the rights of terrorists and actually worry about them, as though these vermin, who don't even wear uniforms, have no allegiance to Iraq, and slaughter innocent men women and children with their bombs and beheadings, were soldiers, fighting for a just cause! On top of that, people like Mertha, Kerry and Dean, actually stand up there with there bare faces hanging out, and denigrate our troops whenever they hear of any unfortunate colateral damages that happened in the course of the fight. They don't even wait until the matter is investigated. They have to open their big mouth, right away. If placed in a similar situation, I wonder what they would do? How about the noises that were heard in the Raymond Building that sounded like gun shots and turned out to be carpenters using a nail gun? How many of these clear thinkers hid under their desk, that day? Do you suppose that if one of these brave Congressmen had a gun in his hands, would he shoot the first person to come into the room? My guess is yes, and he's probably going to have his eyes closed when he empties his gun at the poor office secretary who happen to open the door to the room. All I can say is, we're all in this together, and if you're not with us, then you're against us. I don't care what party you're in. This is something that the Democrats are going to have to learn if they ever want my vote again. When it comes right down to who has the best interest of the American People's safety and well being right now, it's this President, not the Cut-and-run yellow cowards of the Democratic Party.
Joe Alves has it right...we are in a critical situation. The terrorists attacked us (don't forget - it eminated from Islam radicalism...that does mean Muslim Mosques inculcating the minds of youth with hatred for the infidel and rewards for killing them all)! Congress should have declared war after Bush said "We'll hunt them down wherever we find them and bring them to justice!" FDR took action against a nation that was destroying our ships in the Atlantic. Of course Bush had to respond in kind to the murderers of 3000 innocent citizens.
What galls me, and what Americans ought to have figured out, it was under two democratic presidents that terrorists were killing our soldiers and officials in embassies abroad (SS Cole, embassies in Iran, East Africa, etc,). Reagan should have responded when our marines' barracks were bombed in Lebanon.
Bottom line...the Arab nations respect only power, not negotiation. But they know how to work our politicians. And it is the left democrat politicians mostly who are showing the yellow stripe that energizes the terrorists to continue their crusade against Western Culture.
I swear ... What terrorists were in Iraq, other than the ones we're creating on a daily basis through occupying a country that doesn't belong to us? Any WMD found since the Iraq invasion? How was Iraq or "Saddam Hussein" going to attack us without the capabilities? The execs in the white house had put "us" there as an excuse to protect America's oil interest.
Religion ... they're fanatics everywhere - Hitler was a Christian - killed thousands of jews; Osama is a "fanatic" islamic extremist.
Let's talk about non-civilian credibility ... Most of the big republicans in office did not even serve in the military. For example, Bush has a National Guard record that can't prove whether he had even completed his stint. While most democrats volunteered to serve. How can the military fight for our freedom if they're fighting the Iraqis that want to be free of "American" rule in their own country?

We're supposedly after OSAMA BIN LADEN for the 9/11 incident. Him and al qaeda were also responsible for the attack on the USS Cole, and our embassies in Kenya and Indonesia. BIN LADEN is in "Pakistan", not g** damn "IRAQ". Instead, were throwing Gen. Musharraf money to keep his dictatorship. Collaboratively, between us and Pakistan we should've gotten OSAMA and his top cronies.
If the lies they told us about WMD was true, then where are the WMD's? They tied Saddam to Osama in a very elaborate way, but after all these years, where's the proof in the pudding? Some of "us" Americans really do get brainwashed, and just eat what's served to us. I live in New York City and still feel the residual affects of 9/11. Tell our young folks why they are really fighting in Iraq.
Terrorist have no country they pledge allegience to. Did ya forget about the Oklahoma City bombing? That was a terrorist that we had bred. Now we're becoming the world's biggest terrorist. Maybe the world would've been better with the existence with that abortion of a nation USSR.
