If This Were a Conservative Country

Various pundits keep quoting surveys that they say show that a majority of Americans are conservative in their political and societal beliefs.

I disagree.

If this were a conservative country, casual sex and gratuitous violence would not be glorified on television and the movies, and you would not hear “ass”, “son-of-a-bitch”, “bastard” and a thinly disguised “f**k you” on television every night.

If this were a conservative country, we would have drilled for oil off our coasts, in ANWR and on other federal lands, gasoline would sell for $1.00 a gallon, we wouldn’t buy any oil from the Arabs nor care what they did to one another, the cost of living would be way down and the value of the dollar way up.

If this were a conservative country, an idiot movie star like Mel Gibson would be finished after he hurled obscenities at Jewish-Americans, and everyone would laugh when Alec Baldwin or Michael Moore opened their mouths.

If this were a conservative country, there would be no federal Department of Education, local boards would run their schools to educate children who would learn some math and history instead of how to use condoms and why their country is in the wrong about everything imaginable; and colleges would be educating students instead of turning out anti-American activists and community organizers. We would all have a good laugh at the nonsense Sandra Fluke spews.

If this were a conservative country, loan officers in banks would not have been forced to hand out mortgage loans to deadbeats and speculators who had no credit or terrible credit. Age-old methods of evaluating ability to pay would have continued to be combined with down payments and reasonable appraisals of housing values, while bankers would not have had to figure out ways to protect their depositors and stockholders from the inevitable crash which has taken us all down.

If this were a conservative country, an inept and inexperienced manager with a hidden history and a hidden agenda would not now be imposing his radical socialism on this country, nor would the Constitution that has protected us for more than 230 years be under assault from his buyout methods and his attacks on religious freedom.

1. Television scripts reflect what is actually happening in society. Unfortunately perhaps, "ass", "son-of-a-bitch", "bastard", and the "F" bomb are routinely used even on playgrounds.

2. All the drilling in the world will not bring back $1.00/gal. gasoline. Oil is a world wide commodity and increasing demand from China and India will continue to drive prices up.

3. People don't laugh at Moore because there's a kernel of truth in what he says.

4. If local school boards had complete control of curricula, schools in the South would be teaching unscientific rubbish like Intelligent Design.

5. Bad mortgage loans were made because they added to the loan officer's bottom line and could be bundled and sold to unsuspecting investors who got stuck with the bad paper.

6. There is no radical socialism being espoused in this country, and the only attack on religious freedom is from fundamentalists who want to shove their brand of religion down my disbelieving throat. I want my freedom from your dogma to continue unabated.

Vulgarity has always been present on the playgrounds. We and our children don't need it shoved in our faces every day as if it were acceptable civilized behavior.

If a character in a TV crime drama said, "He's a bad man." instead of "He's a bastard." it would lack verisimilitude and sound phony to the ear. It would be like the Hays office requirement of movies in the 40's that married couples be shown in twin beds.

Acceptable civilized behavior varies with time. It was once unacceptable behavior for the minority party in the senate to block all legislation for political gain.

I just have the basic cable with no premium channels because I don't want to hear these potti mouthed Liberals with loose moral behavior. I'm paying for my cable service and I feel I have the right to regulate what my family members hear in my house. If you want your eight year old daughter to listen to this kind of language in your house, it's your preogative and not mine.

Oil drilling in this country can bring the prices down to acceptable costs that the average person can afford without having to choose between freezing and starving. Liberal Democrats continue to keep blocking oil drilling in this country to satisfy the environmentalists. This country has plenty of oil and natural gas and we don't need "Little Chuckie" Schumer begging the Saudis to produce more oil. We have all we need right in this country.

Michael Moore was heckled last week at an OWS rally in NY. It seems that Michael refuses to admit he is part of the 1% to Piers Morgan. This is very typical of a rich far Left hypocrite. No they don't laugh at him, they're just smart enough to see through him for what he is.

We all know that some of our elected officials were aiding and abetting the fall of F&F. Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, and Charles Schumer did their best to block all the reforms that could have diverted this housing bubble.

I guarantee you mister that on the last day when you draw your last breath on this earth, you will be a believer!
