The Kennedy Endorsement Gives Me Great Hope

Until today, in that small place way in the back of my mind, there was this thought that this was going to be a Democratic year no matter what we did and no matter who the Republican nominee might be. The reason is that I have assumed all along that Senator Clinton would be the nominee for the Democrats, and that, with the tide running her way, she would win the presidency.

Today both Senator Kennedy and also Caroline (Kennedy) endorsed Obama, and the sun came out for me. Say what you want about the Clintons; they may be dishonest and slimy, but, together, they are experienced both in political campaigning and in government. Their experience makes them formidable opponents for any Republican nominee. However, the trashing of Obama by the Clintons that we have been watching seems, for the first time, to have exasperated and turned off many of their former allies and supporters. Endorsements normally don’t mean much, but I think today’s endorsement by the Kennedy's, coming as it did right after South Carolina, may change a lot of minds that were wavering.

Senator Obama is a great speaker, but he has no experience, and he has already made some major gaffes. I think he is eminently beatable when the subject shifts to national defense, illegal immigration and the economy – particularly if Romney is the Republican nominee. As much as McCain is respected, because of his liberal positions many Republicans will sit on their hands if he is the nominee. The only issue where McCain is acceptable is on national defense.

For my grandchildren and those who have suffered the loss of democracy I do hope Kennedy has handed the Dem's a win. Hillary is a guarantee for you anti-freedom, kill for oil guys that has brought the wrath of the world upon us.

We are lucky we have not been put in our place yet; get us into Iran and it is probably good bye USA. Kennedy has recognized the sensible choice for, we the small people who can not fight Republican and Democratic government corruption run rampant for years.

You say anti-freedom and loss of democracy without giving any examples because you can't. President Bush will go down in history as the man who saved western civilization, brought freedom to areas under tyranny and fought a war without compromising our freedoms - something previous Democrat presidents could not do. Also, without oil the developed world would come to a stop, and you could not use your computer to make such ignorant comments.

I agree with all you said but I caution that Hillary might still have huge support in Women and Latin votes. She will probably do well in FL and get some momentum back..I hope she loses for the reasons you mention plus the disgraceful way she (and Bill) handled this...I also think it will be Romney running not Mccain. Mccain polls better against the democrats but I think Mitt will prevail because of the economy, the Mccain recent nastiness, and because of previous hatred of Mccain...FL will be the first real test because it is Republican only votes...

Ahh!!! It did my heart good to see the drunken Liberal Lion kiss up to Obama! Bubba was a bad boy, wasn't he! "We can't have this kind of divisive racial talk going on in our Democratic Party, can we?" "We're supposed to be the Party of the working man of all colors!!!" What a joke! Seeing Kennedy and Obama play it up like long lost buds really makes me laugh. Think about it;--Here's obama talking the other day giving one of his speeches about "Change", and here he is with none other than Teddy "drunken Lout" Kennedy, the "Ole Liberal Lion" himself. Now that's what I call real "change"! Hee Hee Hee!

"President Bush will go down in history as the man who saved western civilization" now that's a statement that shows ignorance. Bush cut taxes while taking us to war, tramped all over the constitution, turned most of the world against us, and presided over a corrupt and incompetent administration. He'll most likely be remembered as the worst president in history.
