Several Tea Party Victories Already

Although the Tea Party movement has been ridiculed and mischaracterized by the dominant left-wing press, and has been publicly pooh-poohed by the Obamaites as they attempt to torpedo them, already the Tea Parties have some meaningful achievements:

1. Blue Dog Democrats were scared by the Tea Party movement into leading the defeat of Obama’s prize legislation to have taxpayers pay the mortgages of deadbeats. That bill went down to defeat last week.

2. The Tea Party movement triggered the release of the absurd policy paper by the Homeland Security Department headed by Janet Napolitano – which labeled returning veterans, pro life advocates and other innocent groups as potential terrorists. This has sparked a movement demanding her dismissal.

3. The Tea Party movement laid bare the racism and vulgarities many in the left-wing press hurl at anyone who disagrees with them. This was most evident on MSNBC and on CNN and was most exemplified by Keith Olbermann and Janeane Garofalo. The famous Tea Party interview by the absurdly biased CNN reporter was also broadcast far and wide.

The Tea Party movement is a serious one, and supporters, like myself, have no intention of letting it die. It offers decent Americans their best chance of overcoming the national socialism being planned for us and the attempts in place to collectivize our country before anyone really notices.

In my opinion, the Tea Party movement should embrace the return of Republicanism to its roots of less government, less-intrusive government and less-costly government, and we should rally around the defection of Arlen Specter as another great event that has come along to move us to reach these goals. We should not waste our energy trying to form a third party. The recent history of third parties is that they put Democrats in power.

I'm pretty sure you meant to write, "Pro Life," in the section on the Janet Napolitano paper. It currently reads, "Pro Choice."

This surely isn't the end of Tea Parties. More are needed, and more will come. Hopefully we'll have them in my area so that I can attend.
